Lana Cohlmia

Lana Cohlmia, experienced Oklahoma lawyerLana Cohlmia was born in Dallas, Texas but Sooner bred, being raised in Oklahoma City. By the time she graduated from Putnam City High School with honors, she already had many years of public speaking, theater and drama. She then attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, majoring in radio and television. By her sophomore year, she was working on-air at least six hours a day, announcing, doing news, commercials and consumer reports. She continued on-air throughout her college years, becoming a member of Women in Communications and made the Deans Honor List. Upon graduation, with full intentions of pursuing a career in broadcasting, she returned to Oklahoma City and took a job with radio station 1520 AM KOMA.

Law Education

Cohlmia soon thereafter chose to go to law school, entering Oklahoma City University School of Law. While in law school, Cohlmia worked for the Oklahoma Attorney General's office, leaving after graduation to study for the bar. After passing the bar in Oklahoma, she took a job with an insurance defense firm in Oklahoma City and immediately began honing the skills that would earn her a reputation as a ferocious litigator.

Law Broadcasting Experience

For more than seven years, Lana Cohlmia combined her law degree and her broadcasting degree by hosting a radio talk show called "Saturday Night Law" and "Cohlmia & Company" that aired on NewsRadio 1000 KTOK. It not only gave her the opportunity to help the public gain a better understanding of the law, but also gave her the chance to share her love for the law and broadcasting as well.

Litigation Experience

Now in private practice, Lana's emphasis is litigation. She loves the courtroom, trying cases in civil and domestic courts. Her case load is divided among personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance disputes, divorce and child custody battles, contract disputes and pharmaceutical liability cases.

Lana Cohlmia is licensed and has successfully practiced in all Oklahoma state courts: The Oklahoma Supreme Court, the Court of Criminal Appeals, the Court of Civil Appeals and District Courts. She is admitted in United States Federal District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts.
